Tips to help secure your green card
Nadia Lewis, an Immigration Attorney and Trusted Advisor for WSFL-TV, appeared on Inside South Florida to explain the process for obtaining a green card if an individual, who is a permanent resident, has been married for less than two years.
According to Lewis, if the foreign national is married to a US citizen and has undergone a 485 interview, or has taken part in consular processing, whereby the foreign national goes to the embassy overseas, then a two-year green card will be granted. However, this only applies if the two-year anniversary of the marriage has not yet occurred.
