Domestic violence rights for victims were discussed by Nadia Lewis, a trusted advisor for WSFL-TV and an Immigration Attorney, recently appeared on Inside South Florida to discuss the available options for foreign nationals who are experiencing domestic violence.
According to Lewis, “The Violence Against Women Act has been extended to cover all individuals in a family or household, not just women who have been subjected to domestic violence. The legal criteria for approval of VAWA applications requires proof of physical abuse or extreme cruelty.
